Where is MTS now?Curt Lutz
  • SANDAG/MTS Fare Study status. Per MTS contact the survey results will be available in October.
  • AS/GSA require to define levels of service and need information from the survey.
  • Curt proposed that the general language for the referendum can move forward and to leave room for variables.
  • MTS may not be able to commit to projections until the fare study is completed.
   Eliud Escobedo
  •  Distributed the link with ridership information along with relevant materials (Confluence page)


AS/GSA
  • Ideally, the fare study information should be available by the first day of classes.
  • The referendum language should be completed by the end of October /early November.


Heather
  • Discussed the information about the "Reaffirmation" approach that will put the referendum on the ballot automatically after the term is completed.
  • Some UC campuses use this model to reaffirm all student fees.
  • Described the need for a sunset clause around or after the LRT arrival to campus.

Action items

  • Curt/Eliud - Follow up with MTS to request the fare study results by the first day of classes.
  • Eliud - Request feedback on the campus representatives to participate in activities in support of the student initiative (Chancellor's office VC SA, VC RMP, and VC/CFO)
  • Heather to submit information about referendum timeline, checklist, and UCOP guidelines/policies.
